So

My ortho specialist on the island tells me that if I get my Miniscus surgery done, its a quick (45 minute) surgery that should increase the stability and decrease the pain and that I should be able to walk away from that same day.

BULLSHIT

Never under any circumstances get any operation in Aruba.

First I find there is usually a 3 day period where you aren't supposed to walk after a miniscus repair. Second.. My knee is the size of a freaking grapefruit! It hurts to sit. It hurts to walk. It hurts to lay. It hurts to do anything. And this silly painkillers they gave me haven't done crap.

So

I go see my doctor again

He looks at my knee and says.. "that doesn't look good"

No shit?
Really?
Doesnt look good you say?
I thought it looked perfect! I always wanted a basketball for a kneecap.

Maybe after being unable to sleep the for two days because of the pain. And your idiot idea that I should walk on it anyway. Somewhere in there you should have maybe said that "if your swelling or pain continues, see the doctor" because I suffered in silence for 2 freaking days you idiot.

so then he doubles my pain killer

so now I am taking twice the dosage of something that STILL doesnt work. (not that I can tell)

And he says I shouldn't have changed the bandages on the inscisions. but the paper he gave me clearly states to remove the ace bandage one day after the operation, and remove all white bandages underneath. So I removed the gauze and the crappy medical tape he sealed my wounds with. And replaced them with bandaids and triple antibiotic ointment.

So now I am on double pain killers and double antibiotics.

Okay,

I posted a crapload of pictures and I get 10 emails saying that I have people posted on my website. WTF? People don't read my website. I do it for me and to show people "I have a website" and what do I discover? Its mostly form letters saying "great site please check out my site on blahblahblah signed personsname posted by anonymous

Some bastard found a way to spam blogs. I bet it just takes the newest updated blogsite and posts on it from a goddamn data file. Its peachy fucking keen that I can't download software or mp3s or tv shows or anything like that but I have to be inundated by a post from a guy about seeing his Aryan Brotherhood site. I am posting pictures of VENEZUELA YOU MORON! I am looking at Hispanic girls and saying HOLY SHIT THEY ARE HOT! Does that sound like I want information on your goddamn Aryan brotherhood?

Venezuela Trip

Hey everyone.. I went to venezuela to see Zuhila in the hospital since she is so cute and got hurt shortly after leaving Aruba to head home to Venezuela. This is a nice bunch of photos mostly taken by me and some taken by Maurice (that guy who thinks he can play bass and lets me sing and play guitar in his band www.lostmusic.org) But overall my opinion of Venezuela was this.

SO THATS WHERE ALL THE HOT GIRLS ARE HIDING!

Venezuela was great.. great people great fun great times. I hope to visit again soon but it seems not this month since the money pit that I call a car comes first.

This is my new (to me) car!! Its a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon!! If you have not driven one, I encourage you to! This is not the Hyundai of 10 years ago. They are making a quality product. It's got power and is a nimble little bastard! Anyway the previous owner is paying for some repairs to the suspension but other than that, she is a pleasure to own and twice that to drive! I intend to put some red neon gill lights, red neon interior (underseat lights) with ac vent lights and rings around the headlights in red as well. I have decided on a nice subwoofer and amplifier from Audiobahn. They look sweet and are already on the island! I plan on keeping the spare tire at home and using the space in my car to store my amp (red neon lights anyone?) Also I found a sweet looking carbon fiber hood that I would like the edge at the ends of the grill to the corners of the hood painted to match my car.. creating like V on the hood. It will look pretty cool I think. BUT all this stuff is all dependant apon money, time and when I can get my ALARM installed. The alarm is pretty neat.. it will send a text message to me when it goes off.

The total inside as it is now. You can see band business cards in the ashtray. And you can also see that I started to "silver" specific parts on the dashboard. Ring vents and side vents are done. Next up is the Gauge Bezel (around the speedometer and fuel and stuff), The area around the stereo (messed it up already.. stating over) and the two small vents you can barely see on top of the dash. Eventually door hardware as well.

Well,

Here I am in the middle of a bunch of dilemmas

Bought a new (to me) car.

It's a beauty. Silver 03 Tiburon, Drives like a dream. But I find out it is in need of about 6000 in suspension work. So all my "mod" plans.. out the window.

And out of nowhere finally I get scheduled for orthopedic surgery for my knee. But have to pay Up front.. or I loose my spot in line.

SO here I am with a paycheck in my hand for about 30 minutes before **POOF** its gone.

Not to mention the debts that are still in the US!

So.. financial problems.. I got em.

Emotional problems? HAHAHAHAHAHA I got alot more emotional than financial.

Women, I hate how I am, I wish I was different. Thats all I have to say about that.

Physical Problems? I have the knee.. I was sick all last week.. and I cancelled a paying gig to sing our single for GREAT publicity because of this disgusting blister on my damn lip.

So here I am.. all messed up.

SO ladies night on Wednesday night was a hoot.

Thats right I said hoot.

Picked up the lovely Adrianna and headed to (the world famous) Carlos and Charlies bar where we met up with Maurice. Its the place where the americans go to act like drunken morons. Perfect place to start the night. Ended up at the Paddock, a dutch bar, where Maurice (the dutchman) informed me that he hated the paddock because he doesn't like dutch people. Odd that.

Met Adrianna's two hot hot hot friends and felt bad that all my horney mates were elsewhere.

Left Paddock and went to El Patio for some all night dining. Had some lovely fries with mushroom sauce and offered Adriana a spot in my bed. Almost got some saucy pictures from that bit, but decided against it.

Anyway.. yesterday was rough. Dentist in the AM, get to work and there is just not enough time. Date with Michelaine at 6 head home for some "rest" and a few hours sleep before I had to go to work at 11pm last night and I am still there now .. at 10:15 am. Well I am going home to sleep.

I know this wasn't interesting and if you read it all.. you are a bit wierd

I really need to carry around a Digital Camera so I can post a pic every day. Might make this dreary blog appear to have more life.

State of the dis-illusioned

My good friend, and fellow bandmate Maurice is going through a tough time.

Of course that means night after night of drinking and partying, to keep his spirits up.

A few things I have realized about Maurice...

#1 - I will --NEVER-- be as good a musician as Maurice.

#2 - He is one of the two NICEST people I have ever known (tied with Johnny Chen.. who I should call now that I think about it)

#3 - He, like all men that have any sense of responsibility and loyalty, is taking the fact that his wife wants a divorce to mean that he has in some way failed.

These things are 100% true.. and set the stage for why I am spending my nights out during the week instead of resting so I can produce better results in the workplace.

Yesterday was day 2 of the drinking festival.. and we started about 9.. I had a rum and coke.. as did Maurice.. and we were trying to catch up the drunken lout of an Irishman known as Greg. Greg had been drinking since the end of work at 6-7 ish so he must have had about 7 beers ahead of us with NO dinner.

We stopped by Maurices (he needed to change) and I wanted to show him that I had learned the guitar riff for "The vines - Ride" which we were discussing as a possible addition to our setlist for our upcoming show.

Maurice and I have a good connection with music I think.. and he easily caught on to the gyst of the song and was playing right along with me. Greg wanted to play drums.. and to be nice.. I will say only that he needs to take lessons.

Okay we went from there to Moomba Beach where we were do to play some pool (I brought the que my dad gave me.. even though I suck) I think we only played like two games.. Maurice beat me in the first one and I dunno who won him vs Greg. Greg starting talking to this shady late 40s cockney (england) guy. I got a call from Adriana and I am supposed to meet her out and about tonight. We decided to move on.. we were thinking Mambo Jambo (salsa club) but decided to call it an early night (it was about 11:15 or so) to prepare for Ladies Night (tonight).

Stopped at a Chino's (chineese bar/restaurant) because Maurice and I were starving. 2 decent looking columbian girls working in the empty restaurant. Now Chino's isn't a brand name or a chin name or anything.. its dutch for chineese. These restaurants are peppered all over aruba. Chino's are the HOOTERS of aruba, even though there is a hooters here.. its sad. Chino owners of restaurants such as Hong Ding.. Sung Paradice.. Casa de Wong.. or whatever .. they hire young attractive girls to work the bar/waitress. They do this for the same reason hooters does. To appease the horney men who come in.

I will be honest, as a man, I would much rather eat mediore food served by a hot flirty chick than eat mediocre food anywhere else. This was the second time I had gone to one (spending most of the night in one monday with maurice) and the first time I had gone to this specific one which was only about 100 yards from Maurice's house.

SO the place was mostly empty. 2 Latin American guys sitting with 1 girl, the latina behind the bar, a scrawny coke fiend anorexic chinease girl and a less anorexic one with a kid on her lap. Well the flirty girl behind the bar seemed interested in Greg's Bald Fuckness.. so I backed off. When Greg went outside to puke his guts out (it happens alot) the girl and her friend started stripping and dancing on the bar..they went as far as to pull thier shirts up to show thier bras, It truly did make me enjoy my chilli beef or whatever the hell I was eating.

BUT

The wrench was thrown in the works when Maurice called his soon to be ex-wife. Who says she tried her hardest to make their 5 month marrige work. Maurice spent at least the last 2 months sucking up to her.. trying to do anything to convince her to stay. All she did was walk over him to get what she wanted. Not a big fan of her at this point. I could physically see the change in Maurice.. he went over to the Jukebox or whatever its called all happy and cheerful. Picked some music and came back to his chair not so happy. First two songs played and it wasn't so bad, upbeat salsa stuff. Then the last song came on and I saw his shoulders sag.. his head hang.. and he reached for the phone to call her.

I know he needs time to deal. In one minute a whole night of fun was forgotten. We left soon after and Maurice's mood didn't change.

I know in the past I have done things that emotionally hurt other people. I believe that I only ever INTENTIONALLY did anything to hurt someone one time in my life. And that was specifically to get revenge on a girl who did the same to my friend. She was a stuck up snotty brat who got what she deserved for huring other people.

But I digress from my point.

People who walk all over other peoples feelings are just the worst kind of person. People who can be so callus that the pain of others means nothing to them.. I just can't fathom it. There is a differance between a crush and a relationship. Okay you are together 2 weeks and you don't want it to last? Fine break up and if the other person is all mooning over you and depressed and lovesick? They're probably a stalker. That is not it in Maurice's case. They lived together for 3 years, got married.. and now she wants a divorce after 5 months.

I wish people would stand up and take responsibility for their actions.

I would say put a stupidity tax on something like this but Rossy would just suck up to Maurice to get him to pay for it.

Is it me or are movie companies getting Lazy?

Watching Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow and realizing what a colossal waste of time this is.
I admit.. I have a thing for Gweneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie.. and if I had a few beers I would probably do Jude Law too.. but WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING WITH THIS MOVIE?????

You cannot seriously believe the CRAPPY computer animated NONSENSE that goes on in movies now adays! I mean 2 weeks ago I watched the origonal STAR WARS.. not the digitally remastered blah blah blah nonsense.. I am talking a VHS tape from like 1985. The effects in that movie must have been 150,000 times more believable than the stupid shit in sky captain.

I am a HUGE sci fi fan and this movie just insulted me! They hyped it up to be the next STAR WARS and it was total WANK.

I am sure it was done tounge-in-cheek on the 1930-40's version on what the future would be like.. but SHITTY effects and BAD dialogue just made this pathetic.

Hollywood seems to think that the overall effect of a movie is based solely on budgets. X for effects + Y for bigname actors + Z marketing = BIG DOLLAR$.. BULLSHIT

Carnival

So all this hype comes to aruba every year

Last year I had just gotten on the island 2 days before the grand parade and I thought it was great.
A year had passed and noone mentioned anything about carnival groups so I figured it was a private thing.. only for specific groups of people.

My company has a trailer.. kind of like an elevated podium with a roof. In this trailer they provide free drinks and snacks to all digicel empoyees and family/friends. This is great and does alot for company morale in my opinion. Carnival is broken up into a series of parades. Each parade has its own kind of theme. The first parade is the lighting parade.. its done at night and all the costumes have lights on them.. glow sticks, christmas tree style lights... whatever. Anyway its very cool to watch.

During this parade I was talking to Carmen who is the wife of my coleague and friend Bladomir. I told her I was disappointed that I couldn't participate in the parades. She asked me why not.. I told her I didn't know how to get involved with it. She asked if I was serious about it.. I said yes.. and she said she would get me into the 2 big parades.. but I would have to pay for costume and for the group fee. I was exctatic.. I mean seriously.. My contract is up here in 1 year. If I want to renew? I dunno yet.. but if I dont.. then this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

She hooked me up for the last 2 parades.. the Grand parade in san nicholas.. which was a saturday and the Grand Parade in Oranjestad which was the next day. Aruba has a holiday on the following monday and I found out why.

Costume was about 200dollars and the group fees for both parades were about 150. See in order for a "group" to have a spot in the parade they have to pay a parade fee. That fee is then added to the cost of the big "floats" and the rental of the drink trailer and then the cost is deferred onto the people who join. Its all not for profit and good fun.

Well I had to go to the Parade a little late on saturday since I was sending my friend Dan back to the US.... but it worked out for the best because Dancing in the street for 5 hours is gonna wear ANYONE down. Then to turn around and go for 7 hours the next day was even WORSE.

I felt my knee pop on about the last 1/2 mile of the parade in Oranjestad and that was in addition to the overwhelming fatigue of the whole thing. Not to mention I had to walk back the entire parade route to get to my car. WOW it kicked the hell out of me. But man was it fun. There are supposedly more pictures of me.. but I haven't seen them yet.

My group was "champagne" and we won the awards for: GROUP OF THE YEAR, most energetic group, best dressed group, we placed 2nd for our band, and 3rd for overall presentation in both San Nicholas and Oranjestad.

Anyway a good time was had by all.

This girl with her brother.. during the parade I was getting friendly with her and she asked if I could drive her home.. then her brother came over and told me that there was no way I would drive his sister home.. he would see me in the hospital first.. I was drunk.. there were many other girls so I just walked away. That was the night I met my new girlfriend anyway

Backlog

Honestly have a backlog of stuff that I wanted to post here so doing it in some sembance of an order.

Dec 19th we played at chaos cafe and some pictures are below. More are at lostaruba.blogspot.com

We only played for an hour but it was definitely a rocking hour. Chaos averages about 7-8 people on a sunday night and we drew in a crowd of over 60 people. Too bad we weren't getting paid. Oh well what can you do.... it was our first show there and we have been invited back.

Maurice had some personal stuff after our show and last weekend (sat 19th feb) was our first practice since the show in decemeber. We are working on some new songs so that we can get 2 sets of approx 1 hr each in our next show.
